A small amount of necessary storage
You can read the public website without a HE&L account. This review site contains no advertising pixels, embedded social-media feeds or third-party visitor analytics scripts. Hosting and security providers still process technical traffic information for delivery, operation and protection. This is different from saying that no technical data is collected.
Your light and dark preference
The key hel-theme is saved in browser local storage when you choose a theme. It records a light/dark preference, not your name or enquiry. It stays on that browser until changed or cleared. Without a saved choice, the site follows the device preference where supported. You can remove it using the browser’s site-data controls. The preference may then return to your device setting.
Team sign-in
The hosted app uses an essential cookie named __Host-hel_session after successful team sign-in. It keeps the session associated with the authorised account and is protected with Secure, HttpOnly and SameSite settings. The app limits session life to eight hours with a thirty-minute idle expiry; signing out ends that session. The separate Mac-only development site uses hel_local_session. These sign-in cookies are not advertising cookies. Blocking them prevents the team app from staying signed in, but the public information pages remain available.
Network and external services
Netlify and Cloudflare may use necessary technical storage or security mechanisms as part of their hosting and network services. Their current policies describe their handling of traffic and security records. Opening Facebook, Instagram or a manufacturer website takes you to that provider, which may use its own cookies and account settings. Preparing an SMS locally does not itself contact a messaging provider; opening or sending through your chosen messaging service uses that service.
Your controls and future changes
Use your browser controls to inspect, block or clear cookies and local storage, and sign out when finished with HE&L Studio. Clearing site data may sign you out and reset your theme. If optional analytics, advertising, online payment or a new collection tool is introduced, its privacy information and any consent controls required for that use must be reviewed before it is enabled.
